School Story
General Dynamics Land Systems - Vehicle Systems and AI lab
AT&T Bell Labs -
Lucent Technologies/ Bell Labs - international telecom
Alcatel-Lucent (not by choice)
teaching at Franklin University since 2012.
I eventually got a BSEE at Wayne State, then a Master's a THE Ohio State University (sorry, guys). I joined Bell Labs via their Master's program so they covered the costs and the time.
After working in software a while, I realized I wasn't a very good programmer, was a much better tester, but a much, much better manager. So I moved to the dark side.
In 1996 I got into international telecom programs, loved the travel and living outside the U.S.
Retired in Columbus, OH where we will probably always have a house since our kids are here. Spending time looking around for where we want a second house (NOT Florida).
After retiring I started teaching at Franklin University with a bunch of buddies from the Labs.
Starting back blowing glass last year, will post pictures.
Learning Chinese.
Currently in the OSU BFA program in glass art.
Update 2021:
I graduated OSU in May 2020 with a BFA in Glass Art - glass blowing, kiln forming, etc. Covid hit just in time to cancel the BFA show so all I got was a small place on a website.
But so far so good. During our quarantine I've been painting and drawing, and after almost two years I finally feel like I know how to do it.
This past summer - anticipating that the quarantine would lift - we sold our house at close to the top of the market and moved into an apartment downtown. Great view, love the city, but still not comfortable eating out now that outside dining is too cold.
Becoming proficient at Italian, taking classes in Renissance Art.
So far, life is good.
